Award-winning novelist Stewart O’Nan is on his way to SCAD Atlanta, beginning this winter quarter’s Ivy Hall Writers Series on a high note. O’Nan will appear at Ivy Hall Monday, Jan. 11 at 7 p.m. to read from his widely acclaimed historical fiction novel, “West of Sunset.” The reading, presented by the Ivy Hall Writers Series and A Cappella Books, is free and open to the public.

Recently named one of America’s Best Young Novelists by Granta, O’Nan is the author of 14 previous novels, including “Snow Angels,” “A Prayer for the Dying,” “Emily, Alone” and “Last Night at the Lobster,” a national bestseller and finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize. O’Nan has also written several works of nonfiction, including the best-selling “Faithful,” which he co-wrote with none other than Stephen King.

USA Today describes O’Nan’s “West of Sunset” as an “almost unbearably bittersweet portrait of the once-great novelist F. Scott Fitzgerald’s sad yet glittering final years in Hollywood,” praising in particular the author’s “consummate skill at the snap-and-crackle of period dialogue.” We now have the opportunity to experience that snap-and-crackle up close and personal, in the cozy confines of our own Ivy Hall.

For more event details, visit the A Cappella Books event page here. If you are unable to attend the event, you can pre-order a signed copy of “West of Sunset” here. Last but not least, you can follow O’Nan on Facebook and Twitter.
